This test is designed to verify the cable’s resistance to permanent immersion in water, ensuring that it maintains its electrical and mechanical properties even when submerged.
SIF presents its new INNOVATIVE system for cable immersion testing (AD8), developed to assess the water resistance of flexible cables of type H07RN8-F, in compliance with the latest European standards, including CEI EN 50525-2-21 and EN 50395 art.6.

The testing system enables the automatic and controlled execution of all phases of dielectric strength testing during immersion, including:
- Preliminary voltage testing on finished cables immersed in water at 20 °C
- Long-term testing at 50 °C with application of voltage in alternating current for 14 days and up to 100 days
- Insulation resistance and dielectric strength testing after prolonged immersion
The system ensures high precision in temperature and test voltage control, as well as continuous monitoring to prevent any electrical discharges during testing.
