Tests on cables and electric cable carriers

The test consists in simulating the possible application of the cable installed in a cable energy chain under extreme working conditions in order to determine its technical limit.
During the test, the sample is subjected to traction, thrust and wear and tear.


The parameters that characterise the test include: linear speed, acceleration and deceleration, curve radius and working stroke, which determine the durability of the cable – namely, how many cycles can be performed before the cable is damaged (interruption), under the stated conditions.
This information is fundamental in selecting the type of cable energy chain and cables, depending on how demanding the intended application is (i.e. machine tools, linear axes, etc.).
