Spark tester for multi-wire lines

homepage >Products >Spark tester > Spark tester for multi-wire lines

The Spark Testers for multi-wire lines allow you to check the insulation on several conductors at the same time and are applied to reuniting or stranding lines for the following reasons:

DETECT POSSIBLE FAULTS ON THE SINGLE CONDUCTORS

that have created during the previous processing phases of the wire or during the displacements of the reel from one machining operation to another

DETECT THE FAULTS BEFORE THE CONDUCTORS ARE TWISTED

anticipating the operator's repair intervention directly on the line

REDUCE COSTS

avoiding non-conforming products in the testing phase before delivery or in the most serious case returns by the customer

SIF, first creator of this test system in 1992, has developed different solutions to solve the various cases and adapt to the many systems of cable reuniting and twisting.

Available systems

MULTI SPARK TESTER

Composed of an MS control unit and a quantity of electrodes depending on the number of conductors (ex. MS5 + 5EK12D10). The electrodes can be placed in positions useful for the test and for the geometry of the machine.
The system discriminates the defect on the single conductor.

The bead-chain electrodes are available in the length of 50 - 100 - 150 - 200 mm
(longer lengths or brushes instead of chains on request)

All the models are compliant with standards CEI – EN – IEC 62230, UL 1581, UL 444, BS5099, GOST 2290-78

It is possible to create mixed systems with only one MS control unit and with:

  • standard electrode for testing the already twisted core cores
  • transversal or multi-channel electrodes to test groups of conductors

(Eg MS5 + EK12D20 + 4EK12TRSV120_75)

SPARK TESTER MULTI CHANNEL

Composed of an MSCH control unit and a quantity of electrodes depending on the number of conductors placed in parallel (ex. MSCH5 + EK12D10CH5).

The system discriminates the defect on the single conductor.

TRANSVERSAL SPARK TESTER

Composed of a control unit and a electrode which is “transverse" to the passage of the conductors with a geometry studied according to the number of conductors and the way in which they pass inside the electrode, if concentric or parallel (ex. ST506012 + EK12TRSV180_180; ST506012 + EK12TRSV120_75).

The system doesn’t discriminate the defect on the single conductor.
